My name is Janet; I am the House of Colour Representative for Dubai. I have been living in Dubai for the past 7 years with my husband and teenage son, the youngest of three, who this year flees the nest and heads home to University, just in the time for the middle one to return to me!!
Like most people I was introduced to House of Colour by friends who bought me a gift voucher to attend a Colour Analysis Class. I was totally hooked from day one and knew that I would one day become a Representative myself. That time came when we made our move to Dubai. For twenty years I had ran my own bridal business, making the Brides day the most important one in her life so I have always had an eye for style and a passion for perfection, it was a logical move to undertake my training with House of Colour.
Through House of Colour I can offer advice to my clients on how to make the most of their appearance by using colour to enhance their natural beauty. I encourage clients to bring a friend with them as the Colour Analysis session can be even more fun when it is shared with friends and we can make a whole day of it!! We start off at 10 am with coffee, an informal chat and introduction to get to know each other and a short presentation on how the House of Colour principle works. Then - it’s into the studio to find out which Season of the year you are and to open up your wardrobe to the wonderful world of colour.
My lovely husband prepares a light lunch and we take a break to swap ideas and tips with each other. I ask my clients to bring their make up bags along with them to the session so that I can advise them as to whether they are using the right shades etc. If not then House of Colour has an amazing range of make up which is available for sale at the Colour Analysis Class. I conduct a basic make up on each of my clients and advise them as to which shades of eye shadow and lipsticks they should be wearing to enhance their ‘total look’.
When I had my ‘Colours’ done I found it difficult to find jewellery that was right for me, so over time I have designed my own range of co-ordinating jewellery to complement all the seasons of the year, quite appropriately called 'The Seasons Collection'. We have a bit of fun dressing up with the jewellery; it is amazing the transformation a splash of colour can make to a plain tee shirt.
Not only do I offer the Colour Analysis Classes but I also host Image Days, Wardrobe Review and De Clutter, Personal Shopping and Make Up classes. All classes are available to the men in our lives too!! (Except the make up!)
So - which Season are you?
Testimonials:
My colour analysis day with Janet was inspiring. Her analytical eye, openess and enthusiasm shone through leaving me feeling more confident about myself than I have for years. Her make up advice and hair colour suggestions added to the total experience. Lunch was delicious and having the opportunity to buy jewelery in the correct colours to accent my current wardrobe was a real bonus. Thank you for wonderful day. Jill Philp, Dubai.
As an busy Mum to a lively 4 year old I didn’t have much ‘me’ time and slowly over the years of being a Mum I lost a lot of confidence, whilst I gained a lot of weight, we all know the Dubai Stone! I attended one of Janet’s classes and when I say it changed my life I mean it!! My husband had his colours done the following day and neither of us have looked back. If I was the Minister of Health I would make it the Law. My confidence and self esteem has improved tenfold and I am slowly starting to feel like the person I was before Motherhood took over! I can’t thank Janet enough for changing my life. Debbie Steedman, Dubai.
I went for my colour analysis class a little apprehensive. Colours - how much of a difference could they make?!? Turns out, a lot.
Janet was just brilliant. Her experience and profficiency was immediately apparent. She guided me through the amazing world of colours, and she showed me exactly what to look for each time I wore a colour.
In addition to determining my colour pallette, she gave me little tips and tricks on styling myself. She even helped me pick out the make up colours, and type of jewellery that would suit me.
Janet was warm, friendly, patient, and extremely professional.
I had an amazing day, and was absolutely blown away by everything I learned. Its been 3 months since my session with Janet, and I still use and apply the things she taught me. It's amazing how getting my colours done has affected my confidence.
Seeing my amazing results inspired several of my friends to get their colours done. I've even managed to convince my fiance to get his colours done! I would blindly recommend Janet to anyone who is considering getting their colours done.

I first came across Janet through a mutual friend who had, had her colours done and she raved on about how wonderful the experience was and how she felt so much more confident about herself. As time went on I noticed how well my friend looked and how her colours gave her a radiant look and a new lease of life. This friend pestered me into getting my colours done as she felt that I needed a boost and was told in not so many words that I needed a make over.
I grudgingly went along just because my friend had made it sound very interesting and felt that I had nothing to loose by giving it a go. Janet was very welcoming and asked me which colours I felt that I fell into, to which I was pretty sure I was either an autumn or a spring but there was no way was I ever going to accept that I could ever wear red or orange and nothing Janet said could convince me otherwise.
When we went through the colour palate I started to see where Janet was coming from and that maybe there was a chance that orange may suit me and when I got to the end I was thoroughly convinced that I had found what I had been searching for in colour matching. My friend who started this whole process was stunned that I had gone from a complete non believer to a full converted woman. The make up was the icing on the cake. Once I had got over the shock of wearing bright lipstick I have not looked back.
6 months ago I was a person who hid under large baggy clothing in totally the wrong colours (had to change my whole wardrobe) and would always hide in a crowd and avoid the camera as I felt I was to fat to have my picture taken, to a more outgoing, smiley person who will now stand in front of the camera and not behind it. I have had more photos taken of me since my colour make over and my husband thinks he has a new wife. It has been money well spent and would urge more people to find their inner self.
